Must Visit Attractions In Argentina, Patagonia

Patagonia is known to many as the gem of the south.  This place, once known by explorers as a mystic place, is a natural and cultural marvel.  Patagonia is the tipping point that launched Magellan's Voyage from the Atlantic to the Pacific.  Today, the past is now engulfed with a lively population of tourists.  Even though Patagonia has been hosting tourists for a long time, it still has a way of preserving its natural beauty.

Patagonia is comprised of two countries, namely Chile and Argentina.  Patagonia, Argentina consists of rocky plateaus and winding plains, while the Chilean side consists of the tail of the Andes Mountains.  Patagonia is also famous for being a stone throw's away from Antarctica.  The diverse landscape has produced unique vacation sports that casual tourists and backpackers enjoy.  Patagonia has few residents, but with the increasing number of tourist destinations, more and more people are settling down in the beautiful plains.

Patagonia, Argentina is filled with hiking trails, fishing spots, fields for game and hunting, lakes, ski slopes, and more.  All these natural attractions are embedded in a landscape that cannot easily be matched.  The tapestry of green fields overlapping snow-capped mountains is nothing short of amazing.  In addition, the endless trails of archeological finds and ancient American Indian tribes give travelers a sincere, cultural experience.

Let us look at some of the most inviting attractions in Patagonia, Argentina

Ushuaia Tierra del Fuego In Patagonia Argentina

Ushuaia is the home of the Tierra del Fuego National Park, the Lapataia Bay, and the End-of-the-World Train.  The attractions in Ushuaia in the tip of Patagonia Argentina start and end with the End-of-the-World train.

The End-of-the-World station is located in the outskirts of Ushuaia.  The train is known for its elegance and style, but more importantly, for its historical context.  Before, the End-of-the-World train literally became the end for the prisoners in Ushuaia.  This train transported thousand of prisoners from the city penitentiary to forced labor camps.  Ironically, this train also features a peek at the most beautiful landscapes that a tourist will ever find, reminding them that as the prisoners were prepared to go to their financial destination, they definitely witnessed the peacefulness of the place.  The End of the World train station offers family and group tours.  If you decide to stay in Patagonia Argentina for more than a week, this is definitely a tour that you should not miss.

Beagle Channel

For bold adventure and raw natural experience, tourists are recommended to go to Beagle Channel.  The best time to visit this top attraction in Patagonia Argentina is during the autumn before the leaves fall.  One can travel around the Beagle Channel by hiking around the mountains and trees.  For more mouthwatering views, tourists are encouraged to take their boats out to the channel and feast themselves with breathtaking views from the boat.

Beagle Channel in Patagonia Argentina is composed of many small islands. These islands have rare sea lions and migratory bird colonies.  If you have diving gear and do not mind the cold water, you can bring your underwater camera with you and take snapshots of marine life.  You can go alone or travel with your friends.  You can also get a guide to help you learn more about the place.  Guided tours in the Beagle Channel may include off-road rides and comprehensive overland tours.

Lapataia Bay In Patagonia Argentina

The Lapataia is a remote place that can only be reached by hiking.  From Ushuaia, tourists can travel east to the Catamaran up until Punta Tortuga at the end of the Lapataia Bay.  If the views and the cultural experience are not enough, you can take some sail boats to go to Ensenada Bay, Estorbo Island, Redonda islands, and the Golondrina Bay.

A trip or a cruise to Patagonia Argentina is not that hard to catch.  From Ushuaia, you will be surrounded by the magnificent face known as the Martial Range.  The short trip will end at the popular tourist dock known as the "Eduardo Brisighelli."  Lapataia Bay sits right in front of the dock.  You can take either the land route or the sea route, but if you have the extra money you can take both routes.

The tour to Lapataia Bay in Patagonia Argentina also includes sumptuous meals. There are restaurants in transit that serves Feuguian Lamb.  You can also eat native meals straight from the local produce of Patagonia Argentina including beef, pork, and chicken.  Since the weather in the Patagonia turns colder in the afternoon, you can try cafes and their wide variety of cakes, coffee, and hot chocolate.

Rawson In Puerto Madryn Patagonia Argentina

One urban city that sticks out in the largely rural Patagonia Argentina is Rawson in Puerto Madryn.  Known to many as "Little Brasilia," this city was the first Welsh Settlement in the region.  A trip to Rawson will give you a lot of historical insight that defined Patagonia.  The Maria Auxiliadora Church represents the highly religious and catholic city.  Here, you can find the magnificent murals that depict the wedding of Canaan.

Near the church, you can take a short walk to Don Bosco Regional Museum. Here, you can find religious cult objects of the Welsh colony as well as weapons used by the explorers to help them travel through the dangers of the desert.  The Jose Hernandez Cultural Center exhibits the products of the Argentine artistic scene.  It also hosts cultural events and musical festivities.

Valle De Los Huskies

Valle de los Huskies is a center for winter sports located just north of Ushuaia. Translated as Huskies Valley, this land form features snow capped mountain peaks, forests, and a view of the imposing Alvera Glacier.

The view is one of the many perks of the place.  Backpackers regularly go to Valle De Los Huskies for trekking excursions or four-wheel motorcycling.  Tourists can also go around Valle De Los Huskies using a caterpillar track transport.  For hiking trips, it is recommended to wear boots or skis.  The Valley is also the most popular skiing spot in southern Patagonia, with ski runs as long as ten kilometers.  For fun winter sport vacations, Valle De Los Huskies in Patagonia Argentina fits the bill.
